Exploring by example, the following are projects that fall into the Consultancy category:

Digital Secure Systems Limited (DSSL) initially approached Propona for consultancy work around an existing product that facilitates the production of certificates in a secure fashion. Their initial requirements were for testing of the application developed by a third party as they were keen on this work item being completed independent of the 3rd party. Propona developed a system test plan based on the original requirements specification for the development project as well as additionally specified areas, implemented this test plan and documented the results and our allied recommendations to DSSL.

MD Pipeline Consultants provide services such as industrial pipe surveys and wanted an application to support their business processes for both head office and onsite employees, in particular to support their document completion requirements.

This initial consultancy phase focused on Microsoft SharePoint consultancy (Windows SharePoint Services 3.0), business analysis and requirements analysis. The output of the project was documentation of the results of that work, a specification of how key business processes could be automated via a Small Business Server/ Windows SharePoint Services 3.0/ SQL Server 2005 solution including mobile application support for field operatives via PDAs and laptops.
